PROCLAMA TION <br />HONORING RAY F. JONES ON HIS RETIREMENT FROM <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />DEPARTMENT OF EMERGENCY SERVICES/FIRE RESCUE <br />WHEREAS, Ray F. Jones retired from Indian River County Fire Rescue effective <br />April 27, 2017; and <br />WHEREAS, Ray F. Jones began his career on April 7, 1991, as a firefighter. He <br />earned his EMT certification in 1992. In 1993, Ray became a certified scuba diver <br />wherein he became an integral part of the county's Dive Rescue Team earning <br />accolades from local Law Enforcement, the Army Corps of Engineers and the US <br />Coast Guard. In 2006, Ray was promoted to Driver/Engineer in which capacity he <br />served until his retirement. Throughout his career, he received superior ratings from <br />his command and commendations from the public. He was Firefighter of the Year in <br />2011 and presented the Medal of Heroism by Florida Governor Rick Scott in 201.1 for <br />risking his life in order to save the life of a fellow fireman; and, <br />WHEREAS, Ray F. Jones has served this County and the Public with distinction and <br />selflessness. During his twenty-six years of service, his devotion to his profession, his <br />employer, the citizens of Indian River County and his co-workers was always evident. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the Board <br />applauds Ray F. Jones' efforts on behalf of the County, and the Board wishes to <br />express their deepest gratitude for the dedicated service he has given to Indian River <br />County for the last twenty-six years; and <br />BE IT FURTHER PROCLAIMED that the Board of County Commissioners and staff <br />extend their sincerest wishes for success in his future endeavors. <br />Adopted this 18th day of April 2017. <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />J seph E.
