ARTICLE 25 <br /> HOLIDAYS <br /> The County recognizes the following holidays and any other days authorized by the Board of <br /> County Commissioners under the auspices of the Indian River County Administrative <br /> Policy. <br /> 1. New Year's Day <br /> 2. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day <br /> 3. Good Friday <br /> 4. Memorial Day <br /> 5. Independence Day <br /> 6. Labor Day <br /> 7. Veteran's Day <br /> 8. Thanksgiving Day <br /> 9. Friday after Thanksgiving Day <br /> 10. Last working day before Christmas <br /> 11. Christmas Day <br /> 25.02 Non-shift employees shall be given time,off with pay for the above holidays on the County <br /> observed day. If a non-shift employee works the holiday, the employee shall be paid the <br /> overtime rate at time and one-half for the time worked. <br /> 25.03 Shift employees not required to work on a holiday will receive twelve(12)hours pay at their <br /> regular rate for the pay period within which each holiday falls. Shift employees who are <br /> required to work on a holiday shall receive twelve (12) hours of overtime pay, as holiday <br /> pay, in addition to their twenty-four(24) hours of regular pay. <br /> 25.04 An employee must be on active pay status, or approved leave on the regularly scheduled <br /> working day immediately prior to a holiday and the regularly scheduled working day <br /> immediately following a holiday in order to qualify for the holiday time. <br /> 42 <br />
