RESOLUTION NO. 2017- n54 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CHAIRMAN'S <br />EXECUTION OF AN EMERGENCY LOCAL GOVERNMENT <br />EMERGENCY RELIEF REIMBURSEMENT AGREEMENT WITH THE <br />FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR DAMAGES <br />SUSTAINED TO TRAFFIC EQUIPMENT AS A RESULT OF <br />HURRICANE MATTHEW. <br />WHEREAS, Hurricane Matthew impacted Indian River County on October 6, 2016, <br />causing damage to the County's traffic signal equipment; and <br />WHEREAS, the Governor of Florida declared a state of emergency in the State of <br />Florida because of Hurricane Matthew on October 3, 2016; and <br />WHEREAS, the repair and/or replacement of traffic signal equipment is an Indian River <br />County priority project; and <br />WHEREAS, the Florida Department of Transportation is prepared to provide funds to <br />pay for a portion of the cost to repair and/or replace traffic signal equipment damaged by <br />Hurricane Mathew via an Emergency Local Government Emergency Relief Reimbursement <br />Agreement; and <br />WHEREAS, the State of Florida, Department of Transportation, has requested Indian <br />River County to execute and deliver to the State of Florida, Department of Transportation, an <br />Emergency Local Government Emergency Relief Reimbursement Agreement for the <br />aforementioned project; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the Chairman of the Board is <br />hereby authorized to make, execute, and deliver to the State of Florida, Department of <br />Transportation, an Emergency Local Government Emergency Relief Reimbursement <br />Agreement for the aforementioned project. <br />The foregoing resolution was offered by Commissioner zorc who <br />moved its adoption. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Adams and, upon <br />being put to a vote, the vote was as follows: <br />Chairman Joseph E. Flescher AYE <br />Vice -Chairman Peter D. O'Bryan AYE <br />Commissioner Susan Adams AYE <br />Commissioner Bob Solari AYE <br />Commissioner Tim Zorc AYE <br />The Chairman thereupon declared the resolution passed and adopted this <br />13th day of June , 2017. <br />
