RESOLUTION NO. 2016- <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY <br />DECLARING THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT <br />BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) PROGRAM TO BE A <br />WORKABLE PROGRAM FOR PROVIDING <br />IMPROVEMENTS FOR LOW -TO -MODERATE INCOME <br />HOUSEHOLDS; AUTHORIZING THE CHAIRMAIN OR <br />UTILITIES DIRECTOR TO SIGN NECESSARY <br />DOCUMENTS FOR THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF <br />ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY INDIAN RIVER COUNTY <br />CDBG GRANT AGREEMENT AND PROVIDING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, Indian River County is experiencing a need for physical improvements to <br />benefit low -to -moderate income households; and <br />WHEREAS, the Community Development Block Grant program is a program that can <br />be utilized to provide needed physical improvements to benefit low -to -moderate income <br />households; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, THAT: <br />Section .1. The above "WHEREAS" clauses are true and correct, and are hereby adopted <br />as findings of the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County (the "Board"). <br />Section 2. The Community Development Block Grant (the "CDBG") program is declared <br />to be a workable program for providing needed physical improvements to benefit low -to - <br />moderate income households indicated in the proposed Fiscal Funding Year (FFY) 2014 CDBG <br />application. <br />Section 3. Indian River County has entered into an agreement with the Florida <br />Department of Economic Opportunity for a Federally Funded Community Development Block <br />Grant. <br />Section 4. The Board directs the Chairman or the Utilities Director to sign all necessary <br />certifications required by the CDBG agreement and submit any additional information in a <br />timely manner as may be required by the FDEO award agreement or other State or Federal <br />request related to the CDBG award.
