ARTICLE 28 <br />ANNUAL LEAVE <br />28.01 Employees in the bargaining unit shall be entitled to accrue paid annual leave on the <br />following basis: <br />1. Eleven (11) working days vacation for shift employees and ten (10) working days <br />vacation for non -shift employees shall be earned each year for the first five (5) years <br />of continuous employment commencing with the anniversary date. <br />2. Sixteen (16) working days vacation for shift employees and fifteen (15) working days <br />vacation for non -shift employees shall be earned at the start of the sixth year of <br />continuous employment through the end of the tenth year of continuous employment. <br />3. For each additional year of continuous employment, employees hired prior to the <br />beginning of the first pay period after Union ratification and County approval of this <br />Agreement shall earn an additional day of vacation up to a maximum of twenty-one <br />(21) days per year for shift employees and twenty (20) days per year for non -shift <br />employees: <br />CONTINUOUS EMPLOYMENT ANNUAL DAYS EARNED <br />SHIFT NON -SHIFT <br />11 YEARS <br />17 DAYS <br />16 DAYS <br />12 YEARS <br />18 DAYS <br />17 DAYS <br />13 YEARS <br />19 DAYS <br />18 DAYS <br />14 YEARS <br />20 DAYS <br />19 DAYS <br />15 YEARS <br />21 DAYS <br />20 DAYS <br />28.02 For employees hired prior to the beginning of the first pay period after Union ratification and <br />County approval of this Agreement, forty-two (42) days may be carried over from year to <br />year; and for employees hired on or after the beginning of the first pay period after Union <br />ratification and County approval of this Agreement, thirty (30) days may be carried over from <br />29 <br />P107 <br />
