Szpyrka, P.E., Public Works Director <br />SUBJECT: Work Order No. 6, MBV Engineering, Inc. <br />Atlantic Boulevard Parking Area Project (SR 60 & 43rd Ave.) <br />DATE: May 5, 2017 <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />On November 15, 2011 the Board of County Commissioners approved the Continuing Contract for <br />Professional Services with MBV Engineering, Inc. and on November 4, 2014, approved an Extension and <br />Amendment of the Continuing Contract. <br />On April 14, 2015 the Board of County Commissioners approved an interlocal agreement with the City <br />of Vero Beach to provide for the release of certain contractual land use restriction encumbering the <br />City -owned former Dodgertown nine -hole golf course property and City cooperation and assistance <br />regarding certain roadway improvements project for Aviation Boulevard, 43rd Avenue, and State Road <br />(SR) 60 in the area of 43rd Avenue. The interlocal agreement obligated the County to incorporate a <br />"Cure Plan" for the northeast corner of SR -60 and 43rd Avenue into the plans for the SR -60 and 43rd <br />Avenue roadway widening project. <br />The SR -60 and 43rd Avenue project is moving forward with FDOT acquiring right-of-way for the <br />project with the intention of starting construction on the project in the latter part of 2018. As such, it <br />is now the appropriate time to start the process for design and permitting of the "Cure Plan". <br />The purpose of Work Order No. 6 is to provide survey, design and permitting services to provide a "Cure <br />Plan" for access, parking, landscaping, irrigation and other necessary improvements to accommodate <br />businesses on the north side of SR -60 between 43rd Avenue and Atlantic Boulevard. Work Order No. 6 is <br />for a total lump sum amount of $78,000.00. <br />FUNDING <br />Funding in the amount of $78,000.00 is available in Account Number 31521441-066510-06041 <br />Optional Sales Tax/43rd Avenue/SR 60 —18th Street to 26th Street. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends approval of Work Order No. 6 to MBV Engineering, Inc. authorizing the above- <br />mentioned professional services as outlined in the attached Scope of Services and requests the Board to <br />authorize the Chairman to execute the attached Work Order No. 6 on their behalf for a total lump sum <br />amount of $78,000.00. <br />C:\Users\GRANIC—I\AppData\Local\Temp\BCL Technologies\easyPDF 7\@BCL@80059E17\@BCL@80059E17.doc <br />P27 <br />
