MUNICIPAL SERVICE TARING UNIT (MSTU) <br />1992/93 <br />MUNICIPAL SERVICE TARING UNIT <br />1. Amount of millage reflected on TRIM notices is 1.4455 . <br />2. Our proposed millage is 1.4455 <br />3. Our proposed millage of 1.4455 is 232961 less than the rolled. <br />back millage of 1.4799. <br />4. The county proposed M.S.T.U. Budget is $12,977,869. Current year <br />is $12,455,743. A $522,126 increase (4.2%). <br />S. HIGHLIGHTS: <br />A. New Employees - Recreation Department - South County <br />Park <br />B. City of Vero Beach Recreation Funding increase of $250,025 <br />(from $429,975 to $680,000). <br />E. Salary Contingency - $17,535 <br />County Administrator Jim Chandler announced that the proposed <br />MSTU budget for next fiscal year is. $12,977,869, which contains a <br />net increase of $522,126. That increase, for the most part, is a <br />result of a change in the distribution formula for funding of our <br />Transportation Fund on terms of the operational budgets within this <br />department which contains a net decrease of $20,000. The proposed <br />millage rate is 1.4455, which is 2.32% below the rolled -back rate <br />of 1.4799. <br />Administrator Chandler advised that if the Commission agrees <br />with his recommendation for funding the Barber Street Complex, we <br />would decrease the $330,000 contingencies account by $90,000 for <br />the Barber Street Complex. <br />The Vice Chairman opened the public hearing and asked if <br />anyone wished to be heard with regard to the MSTU Fund.
