RESOLUTION NO. 2017 - 081 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br /> COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, <br /> FINDING THAT THE SALE OF THE OLD LIBRARY <br /> PROPERTY IS IN THE BEST INTERESTS OF THE CITIZENS <br /> OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br /> WHEREAS, the County owns a parcel of property located at 1028 20th Place <br /> Vero Beach, Indian River County; and <br /> WHEREAS, the property is familiarly known as the Old Library and contains <br /> improvements consisting of a building, parking lot and landscaping; and <br /> WHEREAS, the County no longer desires to maintain the property and has <br /> declared the Old Library property to be surplus; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Youth Guidance Donation Fund of Indian River County, Inc., a <br /> Florida not for profit corporation, ("Youth Guidance") has approached the County and <br /> offered to purchase the Old Library property; and <br /> WHEREAS, Youth Guidance is organized for the purposes of providing <br /> mentoring and activities programs for youths of Indian River County and thereby <br /> promotes community interest and welfare for the citizens of Indian River County, <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br /> COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA that: <br /> 1. It is in the best interest of the health, safety and welfare of citizens of <br /> Indian River County to sell the Old Library property to the Youth Guidance Donation <br /> Fund of Indian River County, Inc. for the sum of $225,000. <br /> 2. Staff is hereby directed to take the steps necessary to prepare the <br /> required documents to effectuate the sale of the Old Library property to Youth <br /> Guidance. <br /> 3. This Resolution is being made pursuant to Florida Statute 125.38. <br /> 1 <br />
