CONSENT <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY <br />OFFICE OF MANAGEMENT AND BUDGET <br />PURCHASING DIVISION <br />DATE: June 13, 2017 <br />TO: BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />THROUGH: Jason E. Brown, County Administrator <br />Mike Smykowski, Director, Office of Management and Budget <br />FROM: Jennifer Hyde, Purchasing Manager <br />SUBJECT: . Approval of Sealed Bid Sale of 2625 54th Avenue — Bid 2017059 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />November 10, 2015, the Board authorized the purchase of. 2625 54th Avenue to acquire right-of-way <br />necessary for planned widening of 26th Street, as well as the subsequent sealed bid sale of the remaining <br />parcel, including a single family residence, once the right-of-way take was completed. <br />In accordance with F.S. 125.35, advertisements announcing the sale appeared on May 25 and June 1, 2017. <br />An open house was held to enable prospective buyers to examine the house. Six sealed bids were received <br />and publicly opened on June 13, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. in the amounts of $155,750.00, 150,100.00, 145,000.00, <br />125,000.00, 124,300.00 and $85,000.00. <br />Funds in the amount of $233,000.00 were deducted from Traffic Impact Fees/District II/ROW 26th <br />Street, 43rd Ave to 66th Ave account #10215241-066120-06011 to acquire the parcel, and proceeds <br />from this sale will be returned to the Traffic Impact Fees/District II Fund. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends that the Board of County Commissioners ratify and accept the high bid of $155,750.00 <br />submitted by the Carlson Family LLC and Michael Peters. Staff further recommends the Board approve the <br />Agreement to Purchase and Sell Real Estate and authorize the Chairman to execute the agreement. Finally, <br />staff recommends the Board authorize the County Attorney's staff to prepare and execute any other <br />necessary documents to complete the sale. <br />ATTACHMENTS: <br />Agreement to Purchase and Sell Real Estate <br />Pilo <br />
