DeBraal, Deputy County Attorney <br />Kate Pingolt Cotner, Assistant County Attorney <br />MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Board of County Commissioners <br />FROM: Dylan Reingold - County Attorney <br />DATE: June 12, 2017 <br />RE: Resolutions Delegating the Authority to the County Administrator or his Designee <br />to Call Letters of Credit and to Act on Behalf of Indian River County during the <br />time frames of June 21, 2017, through and including July 10, 2017; July 19, 2017, <br />through and including August 14, 2017; and August 16, 2017, through and <br />including September 11; 2017 <br />The Indian River County Board of County Commissioners has canceled regularly scheduled <br />meetings during the three time frames of June 21, 2017, through and including July 10, 2017; <br />July 19, 2017, through and including August 14, 2017; and August 16, 2017, through and <br />including September 11, 2017. During these three intervals, it is necessary and desirable that the <br />Board delegate to the County Administrator, or his designee, the authority to call Letters of <br />Credit that may expire during these three time intervals. Further, it is necessary and desirable <br />that the Board delegate to the County Administrator, or his designee the authority to execute all <br />other documents necessary for the proper functioning of the County. In Resolution No. 2016- <br />120, the Board delegated the authority to sign any resolution or proclamation of local emergency <br />or state-wide emergency that affects Indian River County, together with any and all emergency <br />orders and other acts required in connection therewith, to the County Administrator, or his <br />designee. Resolution No. 2016-120 remains in full force and effect through December 31, 2017. <br />Additionally, in Resolution No. 2016-121, the Board delegated to the County Administrator or <br />his designee, the authority to sign resolutions on behalf of the Board to call letters of credit <br />which may expire or otherwise require action to be taken during the period of a declared state of <br />local emergency or declared State of Florida emergency affecting Indian River County. <br />Resolution No. 2016-121 also remains in full force and effect through the calendar year 2017. <br />Funding: <br />There is no expense associated with this item. <br />P82 <br />
