DeBraal, Deputy County Attorney <br />Kate Pingolt Cotner, Assistant County Attorney <br />MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Board of County Commissioners <br />FROM: Dylan Reingold - County Attorney <br />DATE: June 30, 2014 <br />RE: <br />Resolutions Delegating the Authority to the County Administrator or his <br />Designee to Call Letters of Credit and to Act on Behalf of Indian River <br />County during the time frames of July 16, 2014, through and including <br />August 18, 2014, and August 20, 2014, through and including September <br />8, 2014 <br />The Indian River County Board of County Commissioners has canceled regularly scheduled <br />meetings during the two time frames of July 16, 2014, through and including August 18, 2014, <br />and then again on August 20, 2014, through and including September 8, 2014. During these <br />two intervals, it is necessary and desirable that the Board delegate to the County Administrator, <br />or his designee, the authority to call Letters of Credit that may expire during these two time <br />intervals. Further, it is necessary and desirable that the Board delegate to the County <br />Administrator, or his designee the authority to execute all other documents necessary for the <br />proper functioning of the County. In Resolution No. 2013-122, the Board delegated the <br />authority to sign any resolution or proclamation of local emergency or state-wide emergency <br />that affects Indian River County, together with any and all emergency orders and other acts <br />required in connection therewith, to the County Administrator, or his designee. Resolution No. <br />2013-122 remains in full force and effect through December 31, 2014. Additionally, in <br />Resolution No. 2013-121, the Board delegated to the County Administrator or his designee, the <br />authority to sign resolutions on behalf of the Board to call letters of credit which may expire or <br />otherwise require action to be taken during the period of a declared state of local emergency or <br />declared State of Florida emergency affecting Indian River County. Resolution No. 2013-121 <br />also remains in full force and effect through the calendar year 2014. <br />Funding: <br />There is no expense associated with this item. <br />Requested Action: <br />Authorize the Chairman to sign the two Resolutions as presented, delegating the authority to <br />call Letters of Credit and delegating full signing authority during the periods commencing July <br />16, 2014, through and including August 18, 2014, and also commencing Au•ust 20, 2014, <br />Inman flied va Approved Date <br />Inchments � Legal -i_ 41/51 <br />r 1 i `; )i ., F Att444 <br />through and including September 8, 2014, respectively. <br />I : _ 63or14.. <br />14 <br />
