BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />3120170052548 <br />RECORDED IN THE PUBLIC RECORDS OF <br />JEFFREY R SMITH, CLERK OF COURT <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY FL <br />BK: 3054 PG: 1942 Page 1 of 2 9/142017 3:21 PM <br />PROCLAMATION DECLARING AND EXTENDING A LOCAL STATE <br />OF EMERGENCY IN INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, IN <br />CONNECTION WITH HURRICANE IRMA <br />WHEREAS, on September 4, 2017, Governor Rick Scott, in his capacity as Governor of <br />the State of Florida, issued Executive Order Number 17-235, declaring that a state of emergency <br />exists in all or portions of the State of Florida (including Indian River County) by reason of <br />Hurricane Irma; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to section 101.10(1) of the Code of Indian River County, and <br />Resolution 2016-120 of the Board of County Commissioners, the County Administrator/Indian <br />River County Emergency Services District Director is authorized to declare a local state of <br />emergency upon making a determination that a natural disaster has occurred or is imminent, <br />requiring immediate and expeditious action, <br />WHEREAS, in my capacity as County Administrator and Indian River County <br />Emergency Services District Director, I determined that, by reason of Hurricane Irma, the threat <br />of a natural disaster had occurred or was imminent, requiring immediate and expeditious action, <br />and declared that a local state of emergency existed in all of Indian River County, Florida, <br />effective as of 1:00 p.m., on the 7th day of September, 2017; and <br />WHEREAS, as of September 14th, 2017, Indian River County is still suffering the <br />effects of Hurricane Irma, which continue to pose a threat to the public health, safety and welfare <br />of the citizens of Indian River County; <br />OFFICE OF THE COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY <br />1801 27th Street, Vero Beach, FL 32960-3388 <br />Phone: 772-226-1408 - Fax: 772-978-1822 <br />F:\County Admin\Emergency Operations\Hurricane Irma\2017 Declaration -Local Emergency (State Declared - <br />Administrator) Extension 1.doc <br />
