<br />PROCLAMATION DECLARING AND EXTENDING A LOCAL STATE
<br />OF EMERGENCY IN INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, IN
<br />CONNECTION WITH HURRICANE IRMA
<br />WHEREAS, on September 4th, 2017, Governor Rick Scott, in his capacity as Governor
<br />of the State of Florida, issued Executive Order Number 17-235, declaring that a state of
<br />emergency exists in all or portions of the State of Florida (including Indian River County) by
<br />reason of Hurricane Irma; and
<br />WHEREAS, pursuant to section 101.10(1) of the Code of Indian River County, and
<br />Resolution 2016-120 of the Board of County Commissioners, the County Administrator/Indian
<br />River County Emergency Services District Director is authorized to declare a local state of
<br />emergency upon making a determination that a natural disaster has occurred or is imminent,
<br />requiring immediate and expeditious action,
<br />WHEREAS, in my capacity as County Administrator and Indian River.. County
<br />Emergency Services District Director, I determined that, by reason of Hurricane Irma, the threat
<br />of a natural disaster had occurred or was imminent, requiring immediate and expeditious action,
<br />and declared that a local state of emergency existed in all of Indian River County, Florida,
<br />effective as of 1:00 p.m., on the 7th day of September, 2017; and
<br />WHEREAS, in my capacity as County Administrator and Indian River County
<br />Emergency Services District Director, I determined that, by reason of Hurricane Irma, that a
<br />local state of emergency existed and continued in all of Indian River County, Florida, effective
<br />as of 1:00 p.m., on the 14th day of September, 2017; and
<br />WHEREAS, in my capacity as County Administrator and Indian River County
<br />Emergency Services District Director, I determined that, by reason of Hurricane Irma, that a
<br />local state of emergency existed and continued in all of Indian River County, Florida, effective
<br />as of 1:00 p.m., on the 21st day of September, 2017; and
<br />WHEREAS, in my capacity as County Administrator and Indian River County
<br />Emergency Services District Director, I determined that, by reason of Hurricane Irma, that a
<br />local state of emergency existed and continued in all of Indian River County, Florida, effective
<br />as of 1:00 p.m., on the 28th day of September, 2017; and
