This program provides funding to <br />participating jurisdictions for the partial reimbursement of costs incurred by incarcerating undocumented <br />criminal aliens in their correctional facilities. <br />I am pleased to inform you that through the efforts of my staff and the use of the consulting firm of <br />Justice Benefits, Inc, (JBI) - that does the research, inputs the data in the proper format and submits the <br />records - the Bureau of Justice Assistance has wire transferred $48,984.00 into the board's bank account. <br />The invoice from the consulting firm for $8,817.12 will need to be paid from the proceeds which leaves a <br />net of $40,166.88 from the FY 2016 SCAAP award. <br />Beginning with FY 2007 SCAAP awards, SCAAP funds must be used for correctional purposes only. <br />Consequently, 1 am requesting a check in the amount of $48,984.00, with the appropriate budget <br />amendment into Corrections Operating Expenses, to pay the consulting firm and to augment finds needed <br />for inmate care. <br />If you have any questions or require additional information, please contact Kelly Goodwin at 978-6146. <br />Sincerely, <br />Deryl Loar, Sheriff <br />cc: Kelly Goodwin, Comptroller <br />Mike Smykowski, OMB Director <br />Diane Bernardo, Finance Director <br />4055 41st Avenue o Vero Beach, FL 32960 + (772) 569-6700 . www.iresheriff.org ^QW <br />P60 <br />
