Long-term outcomes for children who
receive these treatments include increased functionality, improved mobility and communicative function, and in
many cases, increased learning capacity for an enhanced quality of life. The Medicaid Managed Care program in
the state of Florida has left many children without access to providers of rehabilitation services. Many providers
have chosen not to participate with an onerous program, or long waiting lists limit accessibility to services. The goal
of the Sunshine Kids Program is to allow immediate access to rehabilitation services for all children, regardless of
insurance status. Funds received would be used to cover staff salaries and Clinic overhead to provide therapy
services for these children. The overall cost per visit for the Clinic as a whole in 2016 was $96.96.
2017044 Page 3 of 23 05/03/2017
-
