Public Works <br />G Utilities Services <br />12.G.1. 17-0960 Authorization for Southern Management to Provide Emergency <br />Restoration Work at Spoonbill Marsh due to Hurricane Irma <br />Recommended Action: Staff recommends approval of the proposal authorizing the outlined services <br />and requests the Board of County Commissioners direct the Purchasing <br />Manager to issue a Purchase Order for a lump sum amount of $188,543.00 to <br />Southern Management and waive the competitive procurement process. In <br />0 addition, staff recommends approval of a budget amendment to cover said <br />expenses. <br />Attachments: Staff Report <br />Spoonbill Assessment Report <br />Director of Utilities Vincent Burke provided a description and analysis of the <br />emergency restoration work which will be needed to mitigate the impacts of <br />Hurricane Irma on the Spoonbill Marsh Water Treatment Facility. He stated <br />that both the inflow to the site, and the outgoing flow have been affected, <br />making it impossible to comply with the Florida Department of Environmental <br />Protection (FDEP)'s permitting regulations. Director Burke recommended that <br />the Board authorize staff to have Southern Management proceed with the <br />restoration, and advised that some non -emergency repairs/restoration will have <br />to be addressed in the future. <br />A motion was made by Vice Chairman O'Bryan, seconded by Commissioner <br />Solari, to approve staffs recommendation. The motion carried by the following <br />vote: <br />Aye: 4- Chairman Flescher, Vice Chairman O'Bryan, Commissioner Adams, and <br />Commissioner Solari <br />Absent: 1 - Commissioner Zorc <br />• 13.
