New Construction Technologies <br /> Policy 1.8 of the Housing Element reads as follows: <br /> Policy 1.8: The county shall expedite permits for housing projects utilizing new <br /> construction technologies, including green building programs and Energy STAR® <br /> Program. <br /> New construction technologies (such as modular homes, etc.) and new green building <br /> programs may be utilized for the provision of affordable housing. In some cases, new <br /> construction technologies can expedite the construction of new affordable homes and be <br /> more cost effective. <br /> Benefits: <br /> Decreases housing cost <br /> Expedites housing production <br /> Issues: <br /> None <br /> Conclusion: <br /> This is an effective way of reducing housing cost.
