SJRWMD FY 2017-18 Final Budget E. Development of the District Budget This District's fiscal year runs from October 1 through September 30. The budget development process takes place throughout the fiscal year with guidance from the Governing Board. All meetings of the Governing Board, its committees and subcommittees are advertised to provide the public with an opportunity to discuss issues and concerns prior to the adoption of the budget. Figure 2 shows the cyclical nature of this process. District annual budget cycle Prior to adoption of the final budget and in compliance with section 200.065, F.S., the District advised all county property appraisers within its jurisdiction, as required by the Truth in Millage (TRIM) process, of the proposed millage rate for fiscal year 2017-18, as well as the rolled-back rate and the date, time, and location of the public hearing on the matter. The District held two TRIM public hearings in September 2017. The first public hearing took place on September 19, 2017, at the Maitland Service Center at 5:05 p.m. The second and final public hearing took place on September 26, 2017, at the Maitland Service Center at 5:05 p.m. The District did not receive any written disapprovals of any provision in the Tentative Budget by the EOG or LBC prior to the Final Budget adoption hearing.
