SJRWMD FY 2017-18 Final Budget <br /> E. Development of the District Budget <br /> This District's fiscal year runs from October 1 through September 30. The budget <br /> development process takes place throughout the fiscal year with guidance from the <br /> Governing Board. All meetings of the Governing Board, its committees and <br /> subcommittees are advertised to provide the public with an opportunity to discuss <br /> issues and concerns prior to the adoption of the budget. District annual budget cycle <br /> Prior to adoption of the final budget and in compliance with section 200.065, F.S., the <br /> District advised all county property appraisers within its jurisdiction, as required by the <br /> Truth in Millage (TRIM) process, of the proposed millage rate for fiscal year 2017-18, as <br /> well as the rolled-back rate and the date, time, and location of the public hearing on the <br /> matter. <br /> The District held two TRIM public hearings in September 2017. The first public hearing <br /> took place on September 19, 2017, at the Maitland Service Center at 5:05 p.m. The <br /> second and final public hearing took place on September 26, 2017, at the Maitland <br /> Service Center at 5:05 p.m. The District did not receive any written disapprovals of any <br /> provision in the Tentative Budget by the EOG or LBC prior to the Final Budget adoption <br /> hearing. <br /> The District's FY 2017-18 Final Budget is designed to live within the District's means <br /> and meet statutory mandates.
