INDIAN RIVER COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS SITTING AS SOLID <br />WASTE DISPOSAL DISTRICT BOARD <br />Solid Waste Disposal District Budget (Non -Ad Valorem Special District) <br />17-0923 <br />Attachments: Solid Waste Disposal District <br />Indian River County Florida <br />The Board reconvened as the Board of Commissioners of the Solid Waste <br />Disposal District, <br />The 2017-2018 proposed charges for the Solid Waste Disposal District were <br />outlined by Administrator Brown as follows: <br />$68.19 per Residential Waste Generation Unit ($109.10/House) <br />(6.3% increase from current year) <br />$37.67 per Commercial Waste Generation Unit <br />(6.0% increase from current year) <br />Readiness -to -Use Fee $21.59 <br />(5.4% increase from current year) <br />Administrator Brown disclosed that the proposed budget for 2017-2018 is <br />$14,048,177, a decrease of $305,000 or 2.1% from the current year budget. <br />The Chairman opened the floor for public comments; there were no speakers <br />and the Chairman closed the public comment session. <br />A motion was made by Vice Chairman O'Bryan, seconded by Commissioner <br />Adams, to adopt the Non -Ad Valorem assessment rates of $68.19 per Residential <br />Waste Generation Unit; $37.67 per Commercial Waste Generation Unit; and <br />$21.59 Readiness -to -use fee for the Solid Waste Disposal District. The motion <br />carried by the following vote: <br />Aye: 5 — Chairman Flescher, Vice Chairman O'Bryan, Commissioner Adams, <br />Commissioner Solari and Commissioner Zorc <br />A motion was made by Vice Chairman O'Bryan, seconded by Chairman Flescher, <br />to adopt the budget in the amount of $14,048,177 for the Solid Waste Disposal <br />District. The motion carried by the following vote: <br />Aye: 5 - Chairman Flescher, Vice Chairman O'Bryan, Commissioner Adams, <br />Commissioner Solari, and Commissioner Zorc <br />Page 1 <br />
