Szpyrka, P.E., Public Works Director <br />SUBJECT: Final Release of Retainage — Borrelli & Partners, Inc. <br />Intergenerational Recreation Facility at South County Regional Park <br />IRC Project No. 1135 RFQ No. 2012024 <br />DATE: December 11, 2017 <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />CONSENT <br />On March 20, 2012, the Board of County Commissioners approved an agreement with Borrelli & <br />Partners, Inc., to provide architectural and engineering services for the Intergenerational Recreation <br />Facility at South County Regional Park in the amount of $613,232.03. Subsequently, three (3) <br />amendments to the original agreement were approved increasing the total amount of the <br />agreement to $864,625.03. Borrelli & Partners, Inc., has been paid $42,050.13 for partial release of <br />retainage with $22,736.08 still being held. <br />Due to issues with obtaining the building permit at the beginning of the project, County staff has <br />expressed concerns to Borrelli & Partners, Inc., regarding their structural sub -consultant, TLC. <br />Borrelli & Partners, Inc. has submitted Invoice No. Retainage #3, dated December 6, 2017 in the <br />amount of $12,405.00 for final release of the Borrelli & Partners, Inc., retainage and will not request <br />the release of the remaining $10,331.08 in retainage for the sub -consultant TLC. Borrelli & Partners, <br />Inc., agrees with staff that this retainage will not be released and will revert back to the County to <br />address the costs associated with the project delay. <br />FUNDING <br />Funding is budgeted and available from Optional Sales Tax Retainage/Parks & Recreation/South <br />County Intergenerational Rec Facility, Account No. 315-206000-03028 in the amount of <br />$12,405.00. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends approval of Borrelli & Partners, Inc. Invoice No. Retainage #3, dated August 25, <br />2017 in the amount of $12,405.00 for final release of retainage for design services for the <br />Intergenerational Recreation Facility at South County Regional Park. <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />Borrelli & Partners, Inc.
