Ennis, P.E., PMP, County Engineeo <br />SUBJECT: 8th Street Sidewalk Improvements (58th Avenue to 211t Court) <br />Release of Retainage and Change Order No. 1 <br />DATE: December 4, 2017 <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />On November 8, 2016, the Board of County Commissioners awarded Bid No. 2017009 to <br />Timothy Rose Contracting, Inc. in the amount of $575,858.97 for the construction of a 5 -foot <br />wide concrete sidewalk and minor drainage modifications along the north side of 8th Street <br />from 58th Avenue to 211t Court, a length of approximately 2.5 miles. This project wasfunded by <br />a FDOT Local Agency Program (LAP) grant ($455,243.00) which also includes Construction, <br />Engineering and Inspection(CEI)services. The County will fund the remaining construction cost. <br />Change Order No. 1 is to make final adjustments to contract bid items for a decrease to the <br />total contract price by $57,992.94 for a final cost of $517,866.03 and make final contract time <br />adjustments. <br />Timothy Rose Contracting, Inc. has completed the project and has been paid $491,972.73 <br />with $25,893.30 held in retainage. Timothy Rose Contracting, Inc. has submitted Application <br />for Payment No. 7 for release of retainage in the amount of $25,893.30. <br />FUNDING <br />Funding is budgeted and available from Optional Sales Tax Retainage/8th Street Sidewalk (58th <br />Avenue to 21St Court) - Account No. 315-206000-13006 in the amount of $25,893.30. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends approval of Change Order No.1 and payment of Application for Payment No. <br />7 to Timothy Rose Contracting, Inc. in the amount of $25,893.30 for release of retainage. <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />1.
