Board of County Commissioners Meeting Minutes - Final December 19, 2017 <br />Aye: 4 —Chairman O'Bryan, Commissioner Adams, Commissioner Flescher, and <br />Commissioner Zorc <br />Absent: I — Vice Chairman Solari <br />Chairman O'Bryan asked the Board to select a Commissioner to serve as the County <br />Commission alternate to the Canvassing Board for the 2018 General Election cycle. <br />Commissioners Zorc and Flescher individually declared their reasons for being <br />ineligible to serve on the Canvassing Board. <br />Chairman O'Bryan therefore recommended that Commissioner Solari be designated <br />the alternate to the Canvassing Board. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Adams, seconded by Commissioner Zorc, to <br />approve Commissioner Bob Solari as the County Commission alternate for the <br />Canvassing Board for the 2018 General Election cycle. The motion carried by the <br />following vote: <br />Aye: 4- Chairman O'Bryan, Commissioner Adams, Commissioner Flescher, and <br />Commissioner Zorc <br />Absent: 1 - Vice Chairman Solari <br />14.A.2. 17-1296 Request Board Support for the Sebastian Inlet Tax District Local Bill <br />Recommended Action: Request the Board to consider authorizing the Chairman to send a letter of support <br />for the Sebastian Inlet Tax District Local Bill <br />Attachments: Commissioner's Memorandum <br />Sebastian Inlet Tax District Local Bill Information <br />Chairman O'Bryan reported that currently, there is confusion about the governance <br />of the north and south jetty at the Sebastian Inlet. He explained that the Sebastian <br />Inlet Tax District (the District) has submitted a local Bill to the State Legislature, <br />clarifying that it is the District's responsibility to protect and maintain District <br />facilities, including the north and south jetty. Chairman O'Bryan relayed that <br />Senator Debbie Mayfield and Representative Erin Grall have voted to approve the <br />Bill, and requested Board authorization to send a letter of support for the Sebastian <br />Inlet Tax District Local Bill. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Adams, seconded by Commissioner Zorc, to <br />authorize the Chairman to send a letter of support for the Sebastian Inlet Tax District <br />Local Bill. The motion carried by the following vote: <br />Aye: 4- Chairman O'Bryan, Commissioner Adams, Commissioner Flescher, and <br />Commissioner Zorc <br />Absent: 1 - Vice Chairman Solari <br />B.
