The Chairman of the Indian River County Tourist <br />Development Council is hereby authorized to execute said "Second <br />Amendment to Agreement Designating the Chamber of Commerce as the <br />Official County Tourist Bureau". <br />The foregoing resolution was offered by Commissioner <br />Bird and seconded by Commissioner Ti ppi n , and, being put <br />to a vote, the vote was as follows: <br />Chairman Carolyn K. Tippin Aye <br />The Chairman thereupon declared the resolution duly passed <br />and adopted this 20th day of October , 1992. <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />_ INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />By: e, G <br />Carolyn I <br />Eggert, M <br />rman <br />SAID AGREEMENT IS ON FILE <br />IN THE OFFICE OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD <br />HERITAGE VILLAGE - UTILITIES CASE <br />Charles Vitunac came before the Board and reported that nobody <br />in Heritage Village has been paying the County utility bills since <br />May, and the unpaid utility bills now total more than $77,000.00. <br />There is a lawsuit pending between the tenants and the landlord, <br />and the judge has ordered that this go to mediation in 30 days, but <br />it could take another year for the lawsuit to be settled. He added <br />that although the County does not take sides in the lawsuit, and <br />does not wish to turn off the water supply to 400 mobile home <br />units, neither can the County continue to provide free service. <br />Filing a lien would not be effective because these are tenants. <br />Commissioner Scurlock asked whether there are penalty and <br />interest charges on unpaid balances. <br />Utility Services Director Terry Pinto responded that the <br />penalty is 1-1/2% a month, and the bills are about $15,000.00 a <br />month. <br />34 <br />0 <br />
