Approval of Surety Bond for Gary C Wheeler - Sheriff -Elect <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Bird, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Tippin, the Board unanimously approved <br />the public official surety bond for Gary Wheeler, <br />Sheriff -elect. <br />COPY OF BOND IS ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD <br />REQUEST BY FRANK ZORC TO SCHEDULE A PUBLIC HEARING TO DISCUSS <br />POSSIBLE REFERENDUM VOTE BY IRC TAXPAYERS BEFORE FUNDING BEACH <br />RENOURISHMENT <br />The Board reviewed the following letter dated 10/21/92: <br />October 21,;.1992 IRC1021 <br />Indian River County Commission <br />25th. Street: County Administration <br />Vero Beach, Florida. <br />RE: Request for new ordinance.' <br />PURPOSE; To provide the taxpayer/voters in the county the right <br />and privlege to vote for or ;against use of any (local, state or <br />federal), tax dollars for beach renourshment and or sand pumping, <br />in Indian River County. <br />RATIONALE; The beach issue has been one of the longest and most <br />controversial issues in many years. Multi millions of tax dollars <br />have been requested for such projects, which provide only a <br />temporary solution in most cases. <br />Many county residents were disappointed when they were unable to <br />vote on the two beach referendums held in the City of Vero Beach <br />on this major taxpayers issue. <br />SCOPE OF ORDINANCE; A. If the Citizen to;payers, vote NO by <br />majority, any requested krnourshment or sand pumping project will <br />not be approved.
