ON MOTION by Commissioner Bird, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Adams, the Board unanimously <br />authorized commencement of the project as outlined <br />in -staff's recommendation and approved the <br />expenditure of no more than $12,750.00 in <br />engineering and surveying services combined. <br />PETITION FOR WATER SERVICE IN WOOD HOLLOW/32ND COURT AND 32ND <br />AVENUE, SW - SOUTH OFF 5TH STREET, SW <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated 11/5/92: <br />TO: JAMES E. CHASTA <br />AND STAFFED MANAGER OF AS SE S PROJECTS <br />BY: DEPARTMENT OF LITY SERVICES <br />SUBJECT: PETITION FOR WATER SERVICE IN WOOD HOLLOW/32ND COURT <br />AND 32ND AVENUE, SW - SOUTH OFF 5TH STREET, SW <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY PROJECT NO. UW -92 -37 -DS <br />BACKGROUND <br />A petition has been received for a water main extension for Wood <br />Hollow/32nd Court and 32nd Avenue, SW, to supply potable water to its <br />residents. We are now coming to the Board of County Commissioners to <br />seek approval to begin design of the above project. (See attached <br />petition and plat map.) <br />ANALYSIS <br />Four of the 32 lots in this subdivision are on 5th Street, SW and are <br />already on County water. The remaining 28 lots shall benefit from this <br />project. -The 21 property owners signing the petition represent 75% of <br />the properties to be served. <br />All of the lots in this project presently have septic tanks and wells, <br />with which the property owners have concerns regarding potential health <br />hazards. <br />The attached map displays the area to benefit from the assessment <br />project. <br />This project is to be paid through the assessment of property owners <br />along the proposed water line route. In the interim, financing will be <br />through the use of impact fee funds. Design services will be provided <br />by the Department of Utility Services. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />The staff of the Department of Utility Services recommends approval of <br />the above -listed project, in order that they may proceed with the design <br />engineering work in preparation for the special assessment project. <br />83 <br />®y <br />.'1 1992 �ooK Fr,E 87 <br />
