"Sonny" Dean, Director dOt <br />Department of General Services <br />FROM: Fran'Boynton Powell, Purchasing Manage <br />SUBJ: Sole Source/Master Meter Items <br />Utilities Department <br />BACKGROQND INFORMATION: <br />On October 6, 1992, the Board of County Commissioners approved <br />the low bid of Davis Meter and Supply Company for utility <br />materials, meters and supplies for 1992-1993. The Master Meter <br />is the meter currently being purchased under the Davis Meter <br />bid. <br />ANALYSIS: <br />The Department needs to purchase additional items for electronic <br />meter reading to more efficiently obtain meter readings in <br />remote areas. The meter data collection equipment was not a <br />part of the original bid and the equipment needed will only work <br />with the Master Meter. The Department of Utility Services has <br />reviewed this request with the Purchasing Department and they <br />support the Department's request for sole source approval. <br />RECOMMATION: <br />The Department recommends the Board of County Commissioner's <br />approval for the sole source purchase of the Master Meter items <br />as attached from Davis Meter -and Supply Company. <br />8 <br />
