PINTO <br />DIRECTOR OF UTIATY <br />ERVICES <br />PREPARED JAMES D. <br />AND STAFFED MANAGER OF SEPROJECTS <br />BY: DEPARTMENT OF SERVICES <br />SUBJECT: PETITION FOR WATER SERVICE IN PINEWOOD LANE <br />31ST AVENUE, SW, SOUTH OF IST STREET, SW <br />INDIAN RIOTER COUNTY PROJECT NO. UW -92 -40 -DS <br />BACKGROUND <br />A petition has been received for a water main extension for 31st <br />Avenue, SW to supply potable water to its residents. We are now <br />coming to the Board of County Commissioners to seek approval to <br />begin design of the above-mentioned project. (See attached petition <br />and plat map.) <br />ANALYSIS <br />The subdivision contains 12 lots. Through a temporary service <br />agreement, one of the lots abutting on 1st Street, SW is already on <br />County water with an agreement to be included in this assessment <br />project. The 11 remaining shall benefit from this project. The 9 <br />property owners.signing the petition represent 75% of the properties <br />to be served. All of the lots in this project are one acre or <br />slightly more. The attached map displays the area to benefit from <br />the assessment project. This project is to be paid through the <br />assessment of property owners alongthe <br />proposed water line route. <br />In the interim, financing will be through the use of impact fee <br />funds. Design services will be provided by the Department of <br />Utility Services. <br />RECOMNB;NDATION <br />The staff of the Department of.Utility Services recommends approval <br />of the above -listed project in order that they may proceed with the <br />design engineering work in preparation for the special assessment <br />project. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Adams, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner'Tippin, the Board unanimously approved <br />water main extension to 31st Avenue, S.W. and <br />authorized staff to proceed with the design <br />engineering work in preparation for the special <br />assessment project, as recommended by staff. <br />35 <br />DEC 2,2 igAn A <br />IVA <br />
