Tuesday, January 5, 1993 <br />The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, <br />Florida, met in Regular Session at the County Commission Chambers, <br />1840 25th Street, Vero Beach, Florida, on Tuesday, January 5, 1993, <br />at 9:00 A. M. Present were Carolyn K. Eggert, Chairman; Richard N. <br />Bird, Vice Chairman; Fran B. Adams; Kenneth R. Macht, and John W. <br />Tippin. Also present were James E. Chandler, County Administrator; <br />Charles P. Vitunac, County Attorney; and Deputy Clerks Barbara <br />Bonnah and Diane Albin. <br />The Chairman called the meeting to order, and Commissioner <br />Adams led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br />CHAIRMAN'S COMMENTS - CAROLYN K. EGGERT <br />Chairman Eggert thanked Administrator Chandler and staff for <br />a unique and challenging year. She thanked Vice Chairman Richard <br />Bird for his help throughout the past year and conveyed that she <br />enjoyed having the new Commissioners on the Board. She related <br />that every year she becomes more appreciative of the absolutely <br />fine job everyone on staff does and listed some of the <br />accomplishments of the past year, including preparation of an <br />Affordable Housing Plan, LDRs, ordinances, north extension of <br />Indian River Boulevard, breaking ground on the Courthouse, business <br />tax incentives, completion of the second 18 holes at Sandridge, <br />opening South County Park, and the Land Acquisition referendum. <br />She commented that the BCC has tried to the very best of its <br />ability to be responsive to the needs of the community. <br />ELECTION QVICHAIRMAN AND VICE CHAIRMAN -FOR 1993 <br />Chairman .Eggert turned the meeting over to Attorney Vitunac <br />for election of a new Chairman. <br />JAN 5 1993 BOOK 88 r'1'UE 3 S' 33, <br />
