UW -92 -40 -DS
RESOLUTIONS I AND II
BACKGROUND
On December 22, 1992, the Indian River County Board of County
Commissioners approved the petition for water service for Pinewood
Lane/31st Avenue, SW (south off 1st Street, SW) to supply potable
water to its residents. Design service has been completed by the
Department of Utility Services staff. We are now ready to begin the
assessment process associated with this project (see attached agenda
item).
ANALYSIS
The subdivision contains 12 lots. Through a temporary service
agreement, one of the lots abutting on 1st Street, SW is already on
County water, with an' agreement to be included in this assessment
project. The 11 remaining shall benefit from this project. The 9
property owners signing the petition represent 75% of the properties
to be served. All of the lots in this project are one acre or
slightly more. The attached map displays the area to benefit from
the assessment project.
Attached are Resolutions I and II for the assessment project. The
total estimated cost to be assessed is $29,350.38. The cost per
square foot is $0.053938.
This project is to be paid through the assessment of property owners
along the proposed water line route. In the interim, financing will
be through the use of impact fee funds.
RECOMNIENDATION
The staff of the Department of Utility Services recommends that the
Board of County Commissioners approve the attached Resolutions,
which approve the preliminary assessment roll and establish the
public hearing date.
38
