F. Cancellation of Outstanding Taxes on Property Purchased for <br />County Use <br />The Board reviewed memo from Lea R. Keller, CLA, dated <br />February 8, 1993: <br />TO: BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />FROM: Lea R. Keller, CLA, County Attorney's Office <br />DATE: February 8, 1993 <br />RE: CANCELLATION OF OUTSTANDING TAXES <br />PROPERTY PURCHASED FOR COUNTY USE <br />The County has recently acquired two parcels for right-of-way <br />purposes --one on 33rd Street (Cherry Lane) and one on 45th Street <br />east of U.S. #1, and pursuant to Section 196.28, Florida Statutes, the <br />Board of County Commissioners is allowed to cancel and discharge any <br />taxes owed on the portion of the property acquired for public <br />purposes. Such cancellation must be done by resolution of the Board <br />with a certified copy being forwarded to the Tax Collector. <br />REQUESTED ACTION: Board authorize the Chairman to sign the <br />attached resolutions cancelling taxes upon lands the County recently <br />acquired. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Macht, the Board unanimously adopted <br />Resolution 93-35 and Resolution 93-36, cancelling <br />outstanding taxes on property purchased for County <br />use, as recommended by staff. <br />6 <br />BOOK 88 P`E 842 <br />
