February 23, 1993 <br />The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, <br />Florida, met in Regular Session at the County Commission Chambers, <br />1840 25th Street, Vero Beach, Florida, on Tuesday, February 23, <br />1993 at 9:00 o'clock A.M. Present were Richard N. Bird, Chairman; <br />John W. Tippin, Vice Chairman; Fran B. Adams; Carolyn K. Eggert; <br />and Kenneth R. Macht. Also present were James E. Chandler, County <br />Administrator; Charles P. Vitunac, County Attorney; and Barbara <br />Bonnah, Deputy Clerk. <br />The Chairman called the meeting to order, and Commissioner <br />Adams led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br />ADDITIONS TO THE AGENDA/EMERGENCY ITEMS <br />Chairman Bird requested that Item 11-D be moved up under <br />Item 5, Proclamations and Presentations, and also requested the <br />following additions: <br />1) As Item 13-A-1, request from the Pilot Club for <br />Commissioner Bird to meet with DOT officials while in <br />Tallahassee to discuss increasing the priority for <br />improvements to SR -60. <br />2) As Item 13-A-2, Firearms'*Range Committee appointments to <br />new Firearms Range Committee. <br />3) As Item 11-G-4, an update on building bicycle paths. <br />Commissioner Macht requested the addition under his matters <br />of a letter from the State Attorney regarding opposition to <br />proposed legislation that would impose state prisoner costs on <br />counties. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Tippin, the Board unanimously moved <br />forward and added the items listed above. <br />PROCLAMATIONS AND PRESENTATIONS <br />Award Presented to Commissioner Carolyn E.
