ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Adams, the Board unanimously (4-0, <br />Commissioner Bird being absent) authorized the <br />Chairman to execute a letter in support of Vincent <br />McCann as President of the County Veterans Service <br />Officers Association. <br />H. corrective Ouit-Claim Deed - John Randall, Jr. <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated February 22, 1993: <br />TO: The Board of County Commissioners <br />FROM: V/-"� William G. Collins II - Deputy County Attorney <br />DATE: February 22, 1993 <br />SUBJECT: Corrective Quit -Claim Deed <br />A Tax Deed was issued by the Clerk of the Circuit Court to John Randall, <br />Jr. and Altermease Huggins on August 10, 1987. The property sold was not <br />deleted from the book entitled "List of Lands Available for Taxes". This <br />propel was subsequently escheated to the County on January 21, 1993 <br />pursuant to F.S. 197.502(8) which vests title in the Board of County <br />Commissioners if the property is not sold within seven years of being offered <br />for public sale. <br />The fact of the previous Tax Deed sale was discovered two weeks after the <br />Tax Deed was issued to Indian River County. <br />I have recommended to the Clerk that the way to clear title to the land <br />previously sold for taxes would be for the County to execute a Quit -Claim <br />Deed to the current titleholder of the land purchased for taxes in 1987, <br />i.e., John Randall, Jr. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Authorize the Chairman to execute the attached Quit -Claim Deed to John <br />Randall, Jr. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Adams, the Board unanimously '(4-0, <br />Commissioner Bird being absent) authorized the <br />Chairman to execute Quit -Claim Deed to John Randall, <br />Jr., as recommended by staff. <br />COPY OF DEED IS ON FILE <br />IN THE OFFICE OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD <br />L_ MAR - 1993 BDOK 88 P,,rE 93 6.,� <br />
