ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Tippin, the Board unanimously approved <br />the releases of utility liens as listed in staff's <br />memorandum. <br />I. Cancelling Taxes on County Property Acquisition <br />The Board reviewed memo from Assistant County Attorney Terry <br />O'Brien dated April 6, 1993: <br />TO: Board of County Commissioners <br />FROM: Terrence P. O'Brien, Assistant County Attorney <br />fo <br />DATE: April 6, 1993 <br />RE: CANCELLING TAXES ON COUNTY PROPERTY ACQUISITION <br />The County has recently acquired two parcels of land for future <br />courthouse use, and pursuant to Section 196.28, Florida Statutes, the <br />Board of County Commissioners is allowed to cancel and discharge any <br />taxes owed on the property acquired. Such cancellation must be done <br />by resolution of the Board with a certified copy being forwarded to the <br />Tax Collector. <br />REQUESTED ACTION: Request Board authorize Chairman_ to sign and <br />then forward to the Tax Collector a certified copy of the attached <br />resolution cancelling the taxes due upon the parcels the County <br />recently acquired. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Tippin, the Board unanimously adopted <br />Resolution 93-76, cancelling certain taxes upon <br />publicly -owned lands,,as recommended by staff. <br />11 <br />L:APR 131993 BOOK 89 f'A4j. 304i <br />
