BOOK 89 FA -Ur. 313 -1 <br />APR 13 1991 <br />PUBLIC DISCUSSION - REQUEST BY LIBBY HARROW OF INDIAN RIVER BIKE <br />PATH COMMISSION TO PRESENT PETITIONS <br />The Board reviewed a letter from Libby Harrow, representative <br />of the I.R.C. Bike Path Commission, dated April 6, 1993: <br />4/6/93 <br />County Administrator <br />1840 25th st. <br />Vero Leach F1. 32960 <br />Dear Sir: <br />At the Tuesday 4/13/93 County Commission meeting, I would like to <br />present the petitions I have circulated advocating that the funds <br />earmarked by the 1991 Intermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act <br />(ISTEA) be used for bike lanes, bike paths, and "Share the Road Signs" <br />in Indian River County. <br />As a member of the Indian River County Bike Path Commission I would <br />like to attend a workshop in Winter Park, F1. on April 30 and May 19 <br />1993 which instructs communities in the application process for ISTEA <br />funds. I would like to ask the county for help in defraying the cost <br />of registration and travel expenses. Enclosed is a brochure <br />describing the workshop. <br />Thank you. <br />Sincerely, <br />Libby Harrow <br />I.R.C. Bike Path Commission <br />Ms. Harrow presented a petition with 250 names. The petition <br />reads as follows: "We the undersigned would like 10% of the <br />Surface Transportation funds as stated in the Intermodel Surface <br />Transportation Efficiency Act of 1991 (ISTEA) to be used for bike <br />lanes, signs alerting motorists that bikes are sharing the roadway, <br />and bike paths in Vero Beach and Indian River County." <br />Ms. Harrow explained that she estimated expenses to attend the <br />workshop in Winter Park to be $140.00. <br />Community Development Director Bob Keating made the following <br />presentation: <br />20 <br />
