other LAAC sites are in close proximity to this which will <br />facilitate joint maintenance.. <br />Chairman Bird felt strongly that if these lands are going to <br />be operated as parks, the Parks & Recreation Committee should be <br />more involved in the planning process. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Adams, SECONDED by - <br />Commissioner Eggert, the Board unanimously (4-0, <br />Commissioner Macht being absent) approved the <br />Property Management Plan and adopted Resolution 93- <br />83 for assistance under the Florida Inland <br />Navigation District Waterways Assistance Program, as <br />recommended by staff. <br />1'eO1_,Zr6_7_ <br />RE50LUTION NO. 93_g3 <br />RESOLUTION FOR ASSISTANCE <br />UNDER THE FLORIDA INLAND NAVIGATION DISTRICT <br />WATERWAYS ASSISTANCE PROGRAM <br />WHEREAS, THE Indian River County Board of County Commissioners <br />(hereinafter "the Board") is interested in carrying out the <br />following described project for the enjoyment of the citizenry of <br />Indian River County and the State of Florida: <br />Project Title: Developing Educational Opportunities and Evaluating <br />Resource Potential for Indian River County's "Oslo <br />Riverfront Park" <br />Total Estimated Cost: $184,500 <br />Brief Description of Project: <br />The project will provide multiple educational opportunities <br />for waterways -related systems, and will provide shoreline <br />stabilization via the removal of nuisance exotic vegetation <br />from the project area, replaced with planted native species. <br />In addition, a +200' wetland crossover, a +120' wetland <br />boardwalk, a +20' high observation tower, and a +120' <br />observation/fishing/canoe dock will provide multiple <br />opportunities for education and waterways -related activities. <br />AND, Florida Inland Navigation District financial assistance <br />is required for the program mentioned above, <br />NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board that the project <br />described above be authorized, <br />AND, be it further resolved that said Board make application <br />to the Florida Inland Navigation District in the amount of 36 % of <br />the actual cost of the project in behalf of said Indian River <br />County residents, <br />39 <br />APR 271993 POKt 89 FACE 3�Q <br />I <br />
