APR 2 7 1993 <br />BOOK © PIA,, 353 <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Adams, the Board unanimously (4-0, <br />Commissioner Macht being absent) removed and added <br />the above items to today's Agenda. <br />PROCLAMATION AND PRESENTATIONS <br />Chairman Bird read aloud the following proclamation honoring <br />Executive Aide Liz Forlani on her retirement and on behalf of the <br />Board presented a plaque to her with a kiss in appreciation of her <br />many years of dedicated service with the County. <br />PROCLAMATION <br />WHEREAS, LIZ FORLANI has announced her retirement as Executive <br />Aide to the Board of County Commissioners effective April 30, 1993; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, Liz was first employed by Ralph Harris, Clerk of the <br />Court, on February 1, 1972, later becoming Secretary to the Board of <br />County Commissioners on October 10, 1977; she was elevated to <br />Administrative Assistant to the Board on October 1, 1982 and to her <br />_ present position of Executive Aide on July 5, 1991; and <br />WHEREAS, Liz has been most effective in understanding the <br />problems of . the citizens of this county, and has exhibited high <br />integrity, knowledge and caring in helping the citizens deal with <br />their problems; and <br />WHEREAS, Liz has been -very dedicated to governmental service and <br />under her supervision has maintained a well-informed, reliable office <br />staff; she has assisted, guided and advised County Commissioners with <br />wisdom and good humor helping to make their* Commission work and <br />committee assignments run more smoothly; and <br />WHEREAS, many changes have taken place in Indian River County <br />since Liz became part of the county family, including such changes as <br />construction of the 17th Street Bridge; development of the Sheriff's <br />Administration and Jail Complex; construction of three phases of <br />Indian River Boulevard; the initial Comprehensive Land Use Plan -and <br />the recent Growth Management Plan; the Gifford Sewer and Water <br />project; expansion of the South County water line and numerous other <br />utility .-Projects; construction of two libraries; beginning <br />construction of the new courthouse/judicial complex; construction of <br />the Public Health Building, and the consolidation of the -emergency <br />management -system: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA that the Board <br />expresses deep appreciation for the dedicated service LIZ FORLANI has <br />given to Indian River County over the past 21 years; and <br />The Board and office staff wish to express their appreciation to <br />Liz for an outstanding career on behalf of local government and <br />extend our heartfelt wishes for success in her future endeavors. <br />Adopted this 27th day of April, 1993. <br />2 <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />Richard N.
