ORDINANCE 83- ]„Z <br />AN ORDINANCE OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, <br />FLORIDA AMENDING SECTION 302.04 OF THE CODE <br />TO PROVIDE FOR ANIMAL LICENSE RENEWAL TO <br />COINCIDE WITH VACCINATION REQUIREMENTS. <br />WHEREAS, the current rules provide for animal license renewal <br />during the period of June 1 and September 30 of each year; and <br />WHEREAS, orderly administration would be better by having the <br />license period run concurrently with the vaccination period, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, that: <br />SECTION 1. AMENDMENT. <br />Paragraphs (1) and (2) of Section 302.04 are amended as follows: <br />1. On Of / 1501 004 / AA6 / 1 / "d / $0 b1$1hlb0* / $0 / of / "O>k / 4W0A1%f <br />tit/ the annual due date of vaccination, every person subject to the <br />requirement of section 302.03 shall make written application to the <br />division of animal control for issuance or renewal of a license. Each <br />application shall provide the applicant's name, residential address, and <br />telephone number ( home and business) , and shall give an accurate <br />description of the dog or cat being licensed, including name, breed, <br />color, gender, size, reproductive status, and date of birth or age. In <br />addition, an applicant shall provide proof of vaccination for rabies, <br />administered by a licensed veterinarian within the twelve-month period <br />immediately proceeding the date of application. No license shall be <br />issued in the absence of such proof, which shall be by signed <br />certificate of the admuustering veterinarian, indicating the date of the <br />vaccination, the manufacturer, and the lot or serial number of vaccine <br />used. A certificate shall not be valid for more than one (1) animal <br />unless clearly indicated otherwise thereon by the certifying <br />veterinarian. When N a dog or cat attains the age of four (4) months <br />the owner shall have thirty <br />(30) days thereafter in which to make application for and obtain a <br />license as required above. <br />2. Any license issued shall be valid until $$1510*160/$0 the next <br />due date of the vaccination of the following calendar year and shall be <br />renewed by repeating the above application procedure. <br />SECTION 2. SEVERABILITY. <br />If any section, or if any sentence, paragraph, phrase, or word of <br />this ordinance is for any reason held to be unconstitutional, in- <br />operative, or void, such holding shall not affect the remaining portions <br />of this ordinance, and it shall be construed to have been the legislative <br />intent to pass the ordinance without such unconstitutional, invalid or <br />inoperative part. <br />33 <br />MAY 1 11993 BOOK 89 Fa,r 498 <br />I <br />
