WISEMEN, P.E. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER <br />DEPARTMENT OF UTILITY SERVICES <br />SUBJECT: BLUE CYPRESS LAKE COMMUNITY SEWER IMPROVEMENT PROJECT <br />CHANGE ORDER NO. 2 <br />IRC PROJECT NO. US-90-01-DC/CS/ED <br />BACKGROUND: <br />On April 7, 1992, the Indian River County Board of County <br />Commissioners awarded the above -referenced project to Speegle <br />Construction, Inc., of Cocoa, Florida (see attached agenda item). <br />The project is complete. <br />ANALYSIS: <br />The requested final payment figures to the contractor (Speegle <br />Construction, Inc.), are as follows: <br />Original contract amount for construction $439,095.00 <br />Change Order No. 1 6.527.75 <br />Subtotal $445,622.75 <br />Proposed Change Order No. 2 (see attached) 9.300.0 <br />Subtotal $454,922.75 <br />Liquidated damages deduction (12.668.00) <br />$442,254.75 <br />Total payments up to date — (400,772.48) <br />Warranty retainage (5.000.00) <br />Payment requested $ 36,482.27 <br />The completion of the construction was delayed by weather, <br />corrections to the nonspecified items, and conflict between the <br />contractor and the County Building Department during construction. <br />Due to these reasons, the construction went 13 weeks beyond the time <br />originally scheduled for completion. These time extensions caused <br />the additional services in resident inspection and engineering <br />administration from the consultant. <br />116 <br />
