Third Quarter Safety Award <br />June 15, 1993 <br />Each quarter, the County accepts nominations for recognition of <br />outstanding acbomplishments in the area of on-the-job safety. This <br />quarter, we commend the Traffic Operations Section of the Traffic <br />Engineering Division. <br />Through the leadership of Jim Davis, Public Works. Director, and <br />John Butler, Jr., Traffic operations Manager, this work team has <br />had no on-the-job accidents in over two years. Working in the <br />layout and design of all work zone maintenance within rights-of- <br />way, these employees are exposed to serious hazards including <br />traffic and materials which reach temperatures in excess of 450 <br />degrees. In addition, these employees respond on a 24-hour, 7 -day <br />a week basis to traffic control device emergencies. <br />with sincere appreciation for an excellent job, we commend the <br />Traffic Operations Section with the Third Quarter Safety Award. <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />vice chairman Tippin asked if there were any additions or <br />corrections to the Minutes of the Regular Meeting of May 18, 1993. <br />Commissioner Macht corrected Resolution 93-97 on page 49 as <br />follows: John W. Tippin voted Aye and Kenneth R. Macht was absent. <br />ON MOTION by Comm ' issioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />commissioner Adams, the Board unanimously (4-0, <br />Chairman Bird being absent) approved the Minutes of <br />the Regular Meeting of May 18, 1993, as corrected. <br />CONSENT AGENDA <br />Administrator Chandler requested the removal of Item 7C for <br />discussion. <br />A. OccuRational License Taxes Collected - Month of May, 1993 <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Adams, the Board unanimously (4-0, <br />Chairman Bird being absent) accepted the following <br />report from Tax Collector Karl Zimmermann <br />summarizing occupational License Taxes collected <br />during the month of May 1993: <br />3 <br />BOOK 89 PAGE 802 <br />
