DRUM <br />ENVIRONMENTAL SPECIALIST <br />DEPARTMENT OF UTILITY SERVICES <br />SUBJECT: WATER MAIN EXTENSION PROJECT <br />COUNTY ROAD 510/58TH AVENUE INTERSECTION <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY BID NO. 91-113 <br />WORK AUTHORIZATION NO. 14 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />On August 6, 1991, the Board of County Commissioners approved the <br />award of the labor contract bid to Driveways, Inc., Bid No. 91-113 <br />(see attached minutes). The Department of Utility Services proposes <br />to use this labor contract to extend the existing 2411 water main <br />within the south right-of-way line of County Road 510, a total <br />approximate distance of 100 L.F. to the east side of 58th Avenue <br />(Kings Highway). This action is to coordinate with the Public Works <br />Department's proposed roadway improvement project at the C.R. 510 <br />and 58th Avenue intersection. <br />ANALYSIS: <br />The project is comprised of the extension of approximately 40 L.F. <br />of 24" and 60 L.F. of 20" ductile iron pipe water main. The water <br />main is to be extended to the east side of 58th Avenue within the <br />south right-of-way of County Road 510. <br />The cost of the labor to construct the water main under the labor <br />contract is $4,167.45 (see attached Work Authorization No. 14 with <br />Driveways, Inc.). The pipe and fittings will be supplied by the <br />County at a cost of $6,702.43. In-house engineering, inspection, <br />administration costs, and contingencies are estimated to be <br />$1,625.00. Funding for this project will be from impact fees. <br />REC )N: <br />The staff of the Department of Utility Services recommends that the <br />Board of County Commissioners execute the subject agreement, which <br />approves Work Authorization No. 14 to construct the subject project <br />with Driveways, Inc., for the amount of $4,167.45 to extend an <br />estimated 100 L.F. of water main and authorize expenditure of <br />$8,327.43 for materials and in-house support, for a total project <br />cost of $12,494.88. 11 <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Macht, SECONDED by <br />commissioner Tippin, the Board unanimously approved <br />Work Authorization No. 14 with Driveways, Inc., in <br />the total amount of $12,494.88, as recommended by <br />staf f . <br />SAID DOCUMENT <br />IS ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF CLERK TO THE BOARD <br />72 <br />
