The meeting rooms are designed for use by the <br />members and resort guests but will be available for small groups on <br />a reservation basis with advance notification. <br />Commissioner Macht asked whether there was a possibility that <br />the Disney organization would have additional space designated for <br />use by the general public. Mr. Shinn responded that the meeting <br />rooms would accommodate small groups and be available for members' <br />meetings and recreational functions. The meeting rooms would be <br />available during most daytime hours on a reservation basis with <br />advance notification. The restaurant and bar facilities would be <br />available to the public. <br />The Chairman opened the public hearing and asked if anyone <br />wished to be heard in this matter. There being none, he closed the <br />public hearing. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Adams, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Tippin, to grant conceptual planned <br />development (PD) plan and special exception use <br />approval for the Florida Beach Resort with the <br />conditions set out in staff's memorandum. <br />Under discussion, Chairman Bird expressed_ the Board's <br />appreciation to Disney staff and to County staff for their mutual <br />cooperation and hoped this project is the beginning of a blend of <br />the Disney quality and the quality we feel we have here in Indian <br />River County to the mutual benefit of everyone concerned. <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED FOR THE QUESTION. <br />It was voted on and carried unanimously. <br />PUBLIC DISCUSSION - WARREN DILL REGARDING WENTWORTH DITCH <br />Attorney Warren Dill, representing Henry Fischer & Sons, <br />thanked the Board for including his request on the agenda at the <br />11th hour. He addressed the subject of the CR -512 Twin Pairs <br />project. A contract for relocation of the Wentworth Ditch was put <br />out for bids for that relocation and the contract was awarded to <br />Sheltra & Sons. Mr. Dill clarified that he was not representing a <br />disgruntled bidder because Henry Fischer did not make a bid for <br />that contract. He quoted the following figures: Contract price <br />was $245,000; County Engineer's estimated cost was $400,000; next <br />lowest bid was $390,000. He concluded that Sheltra & Sons <br />48 <br />
