Non -Ad Valorem Assessment Charges <br />OMB Director Joe Baird read aloud the entire proposed <br />resolution establishing the per parcel/acre assessment rate for <br />each of the street lighting districts and the Vero Lakes Estates <br />MSTU. <br />Wayne Byerly, 875 Beach Road, asked how these figures were <br />arrived at, and Administrator Chandler explained that the basic <br />rate varies according to the number of parcels within the district, <br />the number of poles, and whether the district is served by the City <br />of Vero Beach or Florida Power & Light. <br />Robert Haas, resident of Vero Shores, asked if the County had <br />ever looked into using sodium vapor lights which are less costly to <br />operate than mercury vapor lights, and Administrator Chandler <br />stated that he would have staff look into it. <br />MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Tippin, the Board unanimously adopted <br />Resolution 93-164, establishing the per parcel/acre <br />assessments for all the non -ad valorem assessments as read <br />aloud by OMB Director Joe Baird. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 93-164 <br />A RESOLUTION OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, <br />AMENDING THE COUNTY BUDGET OFFICER'S ESTIMATES OF <br />RECEIPTS OTHER THAN TAXES AND OF BALANCES TO BE <br />BROUGHT FORWARD FOR FISCAL YEAR 1993-94 AND <br />ADOPTING A FINAL BUDGET FOR ALL THE NON -AD <br />VALOREM ASSESSMENTS. <br />WHEREAS, the Budget Officer of Indian River County has ascertained <br />the needs and the fiscal policy of the Board of County Commissioners for the <br />ensuing fiscal year and did prepare and present to the Board a tentative <br />budget for fiscal year 1993-94 including all estimates of receipts, taxes to be <br />levied, and balances expected to be brought forward and all estimated <br />expenditures, reserves, and balances to be carried over at the end of the <br />year; and <br />38 <br />BOOK 90 PAGE 5 <br />006n <br />ry <br />
