job, and we should try to live in harmony with our neighbors and <br />friends and stop making threats. <br />Commissioner Tippin observed that in his short term as a <br />Commissioner he received 5 complaint calls. He went out and <br />investigated them. Three of the complaints were problems with <br />neighbors and he took no further action. Two of the complaints <br />were satisfactorily remedied. He thought that was the routine <br />procedure followed by all Commissioners. He knew that all the <br />Commissioners receive phone calls regularly and they try to work <br />out problems and are successful about half the time. He further <br />explained that things do change. For example, he has burned trash <br />in the same spot on his property for 15 years but must quit that <br />now because it bothers his new neighbors. <br />Mr. Mensing thought that anonymous complaints should be <br />handled off the record until shown to be legitimate complaints <br />rather than generating paperwork and making people upset, and he <br />urged the Board to make that a policy. <br />Commissioner Adams asked what has been done about the 350 <br />violations mentioned by Mr. Mensing, and Community Development <br />Director Bob Keating responded that he never got a list of <br />violations from Mr. Mensing. <br />REQUEST TO AUTHORIZE STAFF TO DRAW UPON LETTERS OF CREDIT FOR <br />COPELANDS LANDING, PHASE II AND III <br />The Board reviewed memo from Current Development Senior <br />Planner John W.
