ON MOTION by Commissioner Macht, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Eggert, the Board unanimously approved <br />Change Order No. 7 in the amount of $179,088 to the <br />contract with James A. Cummings, Inc., for the new <br />courthouse project, as recommended by staff. <br />CHANGE ORDER NUMBER 7 <br />IS ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF CLERK TO THE BOARD <br />RECREATIONAL BICYCLE RIDE - TROPIC ISLE METRIC CENTURY TREASURE <br />COAST CYCLING ASSOCIATION <br />The Board reviewed memo from County Traffic Engineer Robert <br />Zaitooni dated October 15, 1993: <br />TO: James Chandler <br />County Administrator <br />THROUGH: James W. Davis, P.E. <br />Public Works Director <br />FROM: Robert Zaitooni, P.E. <br />County Traffic Engineer <br />SUBJECT: Recreational Bicycle Ride <br />Tropic Isle Metric Century <br />Treasure Coast Cycling Association <br />DATE: October 15, 1993 <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />The Treasure Coast Cycling Association is requesting permission from the <br />Board of County Commissioners to hold a recreational bicycle ride on State <br />and County roadways on Sunday, November 7, 1993, at 7:30 A.M. until 10:00 <br />A.M. for the benefit of promoting safe cycling in the Treasure Coast. <br />The route will start in Martin County, proceed north through St. Lucie <br />County into Indian River County, north on Old Dixie Highway to 4th Street, <br />east on 4th Street to Indian River Boulevard, east across the 17th Street <br />bridge to SR AlA, then south on SR AlA into St. Lucie County. This route <br />is approximately 68 miles. <br />Since this event will take place along segments of State and County <br />roadways insurance coverage holding the Florida Department of <br />Transportation, Indian River County and the City of Vero Beach harmless <br />must be in hand prior to receiving final State and County permits for this <br />event. <br />The request for approval from the Indian River County Board of County <br />Commissioners to hold the "Tropic Isle Metric Century" recreational <br />bicycle ride is the proposal before the board at this time.
