Tuesday, November 23, 1993 <br />The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, <br />Florida, met in Regular Session at the County Commission Chambers, <br />1840 25th Street, Vero Beach, Florida, on Tuesday, November 23, <br />1993, at 9:00 a.m. Present were Richard N. Bird, Chairman; John W. <br />Tippin, Vice Chairman; Fran B. Adams; Carolyn K. Eggert; and <br />Kenneth R. Macht. Also present were James E. Chandler, County <br />Administrator; Charles P. Vitunac, County Attorney; and Patricia <br />Held, Deputy Clerk. <br />The Chairman called the meeting to order, and Commissioner <br />Carolyn K. Eggert led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br />ADDITIONS TO THE AGENDAJEMERGENCY ITEMS <br />Chairman Bird announced that the Progressive Civic League of <br />Gifford requested deferral of Item 9.A., a Formal Presentation of <br />Master Plan, to December 7, 1993. <br />County Administrator Jim Chandler requested the addition of <br />11.G.3., Street Lights for Martin Luther King, Jr., Boulevard. <br />Commissioner Adams requested the addition of 13.C., Public <br />Lands Research. <br />Commissioner Tippin requested the addition of Item 13.B., <br />Legislative Conference in Tallahassee. <br />Commissioner Macht requested the addition of Item 13.E., <br />Comment on Legislative Delegation. <br />MOTION was made by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Adams, to delete and add the items on <br />the Agenda. <br />Under discussion, Commissioner Macht questioned the emergency <br />nature of street lights for Martin Luther King, Jr., Boulevard <br />because he was concerned that it would not give the citizens an <br />opportunity to voice their opinions. <br />Commissioner Eggert explained that this increased lighting was <br />originally requested by Community Oriented Police Enforcement <br />�NOV 231993 <br />BOOK 91 PAGE 37 <br />
