Cox, P.EAX <br />Civil Engineer <br />SUBJECT: Request for Floodplain Cut and Fill Balance Waiver for Lot 4, Block 13, Vero Lake <br />Estates, Unit No. 2 <br />REFERENCE: Project No. 93120153 <br />DATE: January 19, 1994 CONSENT AGENDA <br />John Pickerill has submitted a building permit application for a single family residence on the <br />subject property. The site is located in an AE special flood hazard zone, base flood elevation 222 <br />ft. N.G.V.D. In the attached letter from'the applicant's engineer dated January 18, 1994, a waiver <br />of the cut and fill balance requirement is requested. The lot area is 1.07 acres. The volume of the <br />100 year floodplain displaced by the proposed grading plan is estimated to be 430 cubic yards. <br />The waiver request has been reviewed by staff and appears to meet the criteria of Section <br />930.07(2)(d)4. of the Stormwater Management and Flood Protection Ordinance for lots located in <br />the Vero Lake Estates Municipal Services Taxing Unit. <br />Alternative No. 1 - Grant the cut and fill balance waiver based on the criteria of Section <br />930.07(2)(d)4. <br />Altemative No. 2 - Deny the cut and fill waiver. Require an on site retention area be provided to <br />compensate for the proposed floodplain displacement. <br />Staff recommends approval of Alternative No. 1. <br />2 <br />
