PROCLAMATION <br />DESIGNATING THE MONTH OF MARCH, 1994 <br />AS NATIONAL RED CROSS MONTH IN <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />WHEREAS, the AMERICAN RED CROSS is always there when <br />disaster strikes and is available 24 hours a day to meet human <br />needs created by a disaster; and <br />WHEREAS, the local chapter of the AMERICAN RED CROSS is <br />having its annual membership campaign to increase the membership <br />of the chapter; and <br />WHEREAS, the mission of the AMERICAN RED CROSS is to improve <br />the quality of human life; to 'enhance self-reliance and concern <br />for others; and to help people avoid, prepare for, and cope with <br />emergencies; and <br />WHEREAS, the local chapter provides many services in support <br />of its national mission and for the good of our residents, <br />including but not limited to free blood pressure screenings, <br />training in CPR and standard first aid, transportation for <br />veterans to the VA hospitals, and services for military families; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the AMERICAN RED CROSS, both on the national and <br />local level, provides aid to people in times of distress, such as <br />fires and floods: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMIISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA that the month of <br />March, 1994 be designated as <br />NATIONAL RED CROSS MONTH <br />in Indian River County, and the Board further expresses its <br />appreciation to the AMERICAN RED CROSS for the good work it has <br />done both on the national and local level for the benefit of the <br />community. <br />Adopted this 22 day of February, 1994. <br />3 <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSION <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />tJo n 'W .
