It was only 20 years ago that <br />we purchased the property for the Landfill, but now we need to <br />provide for the next 20 years and the 20 years after that. We have <br />to make people aware of the tremendous costs involved in the <br />disposal of solid waste and how important it is that we recycle <br />everything possible. <br />Chairman Tippin agreed that we must have a plan, but he felt <br />that we are getting beyond our ability to pay in trying to <br />anticipate every emergency. He believed that state of the art is <br />fine if you can afford it. <br />Director Pinto pointed out that what we have is not state of <br />the art.
