Authorization of Out=of-County Travel for Commissioner Adams <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Adams, the Board unanimously approved <br />out -of -county travel for Commissioner Adams on May <br />18, 1994. <br />SURPLUS REAL PROPERTY <br />Moved from 11.C.2. <br />The Board reviewed memo from General Services Director Sonny <br />Dean dated May 4, 1994: <br />DATE: MAY 41 1994 <br />TO: HONORABLE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />THRU: JAMES E. CHANDLER <br />COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR <br />FROM: H.T. "SONNY" DEAN, DIRECTO <br />DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL SERVICE <br />SUBJECT: SURPLUS REAL PROPERTY <br />BACKGROUND: <br />As approved by the Board on March 8, 1994, the following two parcels <br />of property were advertised for sale: <br />1. Parcel Number 27323900000100000049.0, located on North West <br />corner 43rd Street and 33rd Avenue 60' x 881, approximately .12 <br />acre. Assessed value is $10,250. <br />2. Parcel Number 01333800010000000016.0, Lot 16, Westlake Estates, <br />156.04' x 293.251. Assessed value is $21,220. (Less 55' on the <br />East side). <br />Invitations were sent to thirty prospective bidders along with <br />advertisement in the newspaper and no bids were received. <br />Since that time, Triumph The Church And Kingdom Of God In Christ has <br />expressed an interest in purchasing parcel number 1, on 43rd Street <br />and 33rd Avenue for a price of $4,000. This is less than the minimum <br />bid of $10,260 which was based on the assessed value and asked for on <br />the bid documents. <br />Staff is proposing the following alternatives: <br />1. Sell the property to the Church at the proposed price of $4,000. <br />2. Authorize staff to negotiate a price somewhere between $4,000 <br />and the assessed value of $10,250. <br />3. Offer to sell the property at nothing less than the assessed <br />value of $10,260. <br />Staff requests direction from the Board as to which alternative <br />should be pursued. <br />HAY13 <br />418 <br />
