Florida East Coast Railway (FEC) License Agreements <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated 5/11/94: <br />DATE: <br />MAY 11, 1994 <br />TO: JAMES E. CHANDLER <br />COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR <br />FROM: TERRANCE G. PINTO <br />DIRECTOR OF UTILI S CES <br />PREPARED WILLIAM F. CAIN <br />AND STAFFED CAPITAL PR ENGINEER <br />BY: DE PAR O ILITY SERVICES <br />SUBJECT: FLORIDA EAST COAST RAILWAY COMPANY (FEC) <br />LICENSE AGREEMENTS <br />BACKGROUND AND ANALYSIS <br />On August 17, 1993, Indian River County purchased General <br />Development Utilities, Inc., in the South County area. As part of <br />this purchase, the County acquired two utility crossings in the FEC <br />right-of-way which involved a 12 -inch DIP water main and a 10 -inch <br />DIP sewer force -main. The lease agreements with the Florida East <br />Coast Railway Company must now be transferred from General <br />Development Utilities, Inc., to Indian River County. (See attached <br />lease agreements with the Florida East Coast Railway Company.) The <br />cost of these crossings is $50.00 each per year. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />The staff of the Department of Utility Services recommends that the <br />Board of.County Commissioners approve the Florida East Coast Railway <br />Company lease agreements and fees, as presented. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bird, the Board unanimously <br />approved the FEC lease agreements and fees <br />as set out in staff's recommendation. <br />AGREEMENTS ARE ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD <br />12 <br />
